Export tools now available! Sep 13, '12 10:56 AM
by Stefan for everyone
Hi All,

It's taken longer than we'd hoped but I'm happy to inform you that the export tools are now up and running.

The export tools are available below your headshot on your Multiply site and enable you to do the following:
1. Download your content to your computer
2. Export to Blogger (a blogging platform owned by Google)

To use the export tools:
1. Visit your Multiply page (example: yourid.multiply.com)
2. Click one of the options available on your Multiply page (below your headshot):
a. Download Media: to download all media files
b. Export to Blogger: to transfer all compatible files to your Blogger page
i. Choose file you would like to download
ii. You will receive an email (via the email address registered to your Multiply account) containing a link to download all your Multiply files along with instructions on how to import then to Blogger:

These tools will be available until December 1, 2012 for you to migrate your content.

There are efforts underway to offer ways to migrate your content to other platforms such as Tumblr (we had Tumblr working, but then they changed their API on September 1st) and Wordpress, and we will keep you posted as these options materialize.

For more information, please read the Export Tools section at the bottom of our Frequently Asked Questions . There are some restrictions (e.g. Blogger has a limitation that means photos must be downloaded and uploaded separately)

Should you have any questions regarding the export tool, please let us know by dropping an
email to support@multiply.com

-Stef

There's also a tutorial with pictures for exporting to Blogger right here: http://usersupport.multiply.com/journal/item/339/Exporting-to-Blogger

Multiply Export Tools

What are Export Tools?

Export Tools are the tools to export your content in Multiply to other blogging platforms (such as Blogger and Tumblr), and download your photos and videos in Multiply to your computer.

If this didn't answer your question, please contact us.

Why do I need the Export Tools?

Multiply will no longer be able to support the blogging and social networking features from December 1, 2012. The export tools will help you to preserve your content (blog, video, photo, etc), and/or move it to another platform.

If this didn't answer your question, please contact us.

Will the export tools be free of charge?

Yes, the export tools are free to use for all Multiply users.

If this didn't answer your question, please contact us.

What type of content can be exported by the Export Tools?

We provide the tools to Download Media, Export to Blogger and Export to Tumblr.

Download Media
You can download all your photo and video files (including photos and videos you have uploaded from Picasa and YouTube) to your computer using Download Media tool.

Export to Blogger
You can export your post entries of photo albums, recipes, reviews, links, notes, blog entries, events, videos, listings and product listings to Blogger using Export to Blogger tool.

Please note that the Blogger Export tool can only export your post entries and does not automatically export your photo/video files due to limitation from Blogger. You will need to download all of your photos/videos to your computer using Download Media tool, then upload to your blog posts to Blogger manually.

Export to Tumblr
This tool will come soon. The Tumblr API has been changed on September 1st, 2012 and we're working to fix it.
Please note that the Tumblr Export tool will be only able to export 100 post entries due to limitation from Tumblr.

If this didn't answer your question, please contact us.

Where can I access the Export Tools?

You can find the Export Tools after you sign in to your Multiply site. Go to your home page (My Site), then point to Download Media, Export to Blogger or Export to Tumblr on the side menu of your site, below your profile picture.

If this didn't answer your question, please contact us.

How do I use the Export tool to download all my media files or save them as a backup?
